Prenote: I need the flashy subject to grab your attention.... I have recently purchased a PC-Brand 386 SX 20 with 64K CPU cache. It is an absolutely wonderful machine! Except for this internal memory control. The bios or cpu controls extended memory, while it allows the continuous A0 handler to be shut of, it still causes a problem, regardless of using HIMEM.SYS or not. The deal I WANT TO RUN MS-DOS 5.0(I actually have it) OR DR-DOS 5.0(tried it). Neither will work! DR-DOS displays a message (unlike silent MS-DOS) that there is a fatal extended memory crash! So then I have to reboot again with 4.01 and be happy switching back and forth between QEMM and normal configs... My other friends run their 386 with 610,000+ bytes convential because MS-DOS 5.0 and DR-DOS 5.0 load themselves and TSRs high. please, if you can help, I would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance.. gdensio@hubcap.clemson.edu ps. I am running MRBIOS bios with shadowing capabilites and other stuff.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
