[net.followup] 2 yr. MD with Ph.D. in Fla.

gh (05/11/83)

While I can sympathize with anyone who wants to improve their employability,
I can't believe that having a PhD in Linguistics (or other area unrelated to
Medicine) would allow one to do an MD program in two years. If it takes a
BSc four years, then it should take a Linguistics PhD four years also, and
I don't think I would like to be treated by a doctor with anything less.

Some of my best friends have, or are getting, PhDs in Linguistics

while it may not be too helpul for this case, there is a two year M.D. program
in Juarez, Mexico for people with PhD's, but the PhD must be in some
scientific area (I think in some biological field, but biochem may be ok).
If anyone is seriously interested, send me mail and I will try to pass on
more information.
