I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to what I am experiancing at the moment. When ever I use games that use 256 colours such as wolfpack or f19 some of the main screens deteriorate,by this I mean some of the pixels change colour and I get long lines down my screen(like rain). Also when i use Quick C with the /h option ke rain) inorder to use the editor with 50 lines, all the text output from my programs is jumbled up or missing.I have a feeling that the problem is with my video board. By the way my equipment is as follows:- 12mhz 80286 clone wd 40 meg ide drive trident 8800 vga board with 512k ram datatrain dc-507 vga moniter I also have the following boards installed :- 1,ADLIB 2,LOGITECH SCANMAN BOARD 3,2400b INTERNAL MODEM ON COM 1 4,I/O BOARD 5,IDE CONTROLLER -- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Bell uunet!van_bc!rsoft!mindlink!a1076 Benndorf-Verster a1076@mindlink.uucp Vancouver Canada voice 604-853-5870 -------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I too had problems with my Trident VGA card 1MB. It conflicted with my ST01 SCSI card. I solved the problem by turning the fast address decode switch off. I think we both have the same card. You switch dip switch 5 to on. If the problem sill persist try changing the auto channel dectect to standard. Can't remember which jumper this it, you should be able to find it in the manual that comes with it. I think that your VGA card most likely conflicts with your scanner, since I have a 80Mb Maxtor (I think IDE) drive. Adlib shouldn't cause much problems. If the above doesn't help try writting down all the access range (memory) of each card. If there is conflict than try to change one of them. If the interrupt lines conflict try to change it too. Well, I hope that helps, you really need to check all the manuals when installing. Especially if you install new cards after the system comes to you. I have a friend, he blew his CMOS and several chips when he plug in his SCSI card. The best part of it, it didn't happen immediately, but rather 2 weeks after he installed it. Strange huh? Good Luck!
