Several friends and I are considering a trip to
New Orleans for the Mardi Gras in March. Since
we really don't know much about the festivities,
we are interested in any information anyone
can provide. Some questions in particular:
1. Are we too late in planning--are all the
places booked months in advance?
2. If we can go for only 3 of the days, which
3 sshould we pick? the opening? the finale?
3. Is it feasible to stay, say 30-40 miles out
of New Orleans and "commute" in for the fun?
4. Can one get around with public transportation
or would a rental car be necessary?
5. Does anyone know of any cheap places to stay?
6. What will the weather be like that time of year?
