Does this sound familiar to anyone? Ever since I got my VGA monitor (SAM*TRON) and card (Universal), I have been having problems with my computer freezing while screensaver programs are running. (This is not true when Windows is running, however. In fact, my computer almost never freezes in Windows.) I have tried different screensavers (I have not tried actually blanking, though. The screensavers I've tried all write to the screen--fireworks, etc.) and they all do the same thing. After about 3 or 4 minutes, everything stops. I can't even reboot with Ctrl-Alt-Delete; I have to press Reset. In the beginning I thought it was my mouse. It was old and didn't support VGA. But I ordered a new, up-to-date driver and even got a different mouse, but I still have the same problem. Any ideas? Gail PS. I am attempting to cross-post this to comp.sys.ibm.pc (which I read) and comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware (which I don't read). Keep this in mind if and when you respond. If you are reading this in the latter group, please post to the former or reply by mail. Thanks. Send mail to: ggurman@cory.Berkeley.EDU
