FYI, I have discovered that the documentation accompanying the Datacomp Tricell 6 Layer 80386-25 motherboard (documentation version 386/78033 V1) appears to be incorrect in its description of the affect that a jumper has on pipelining mode selection. I base this on the assumption that the "turbo" switch (to which the pipelining jumper is connected) on the computer case shorts the jumper when pressed in. The manual (page 10) states that a jumper "ON" enables pipelining. It should be reversed; i.e., a jumper "ON" *disables* pipelining. Pipelining tests produce the following results on Esix 5.3.2-D with Dhrystone 2.1 (C) w/o registers: Iterations Enabled Disabled % diff en/dis ---------- --------- -------- ------------- 500,000 10,000.0 8771.9 +14 1,000,000 10,101.0 8928.6 +13 10,000,000 10,020.0 7657.0 +30 ---------- --------- -------- ------------- Average 10,040.3 8452.5 +19 -- Derek "Tigger" Terveer det@hawkmoon.MN.ORG -- U of MN Women's Lax I am the way and the truth and the light, I know all the answers; don't need your advice. -- "I am the way and the truth and the light" -- The Legendary Pink Dots
