Found what looks like a floppy/hard disk controller. A full-size board with lots of surface-mount devices. Silk screen says: FAB0005349 REV D SMS SMS MODEL OMTI 8 520 ASSEMBLY 000 6347-0001 REV K The location of the headers seems to indicates that it's a floppy/hard disk controller, but the ole "plug it in" test failed. The landmark chips are: FDC765A / SMC 8721 Z8 SMS / OMTI 20505C / NCR 0380746 / ... SMS / OMTI 20506C-32 / NCR-0380668 PT / ... SMS / OMTI 20508C / NCR-0380780 / ... ... and a few others There are numerous headers with some shorting blocks in place. A 20pin header near the rear of the board, labeled W14 - W23. With jumpers across W14 pair, W15 pair, W20 pair, W21 pair and W23 pair. An empty 16pin header at mid-board, labeled W4 through W11. And an empty 4pin header near silk screen at front of board, labeled J1. And of course the 2 20pin and 2 34pin headers for cables at mid-board. Any clues? A phone number, address or e-mail address of SMS would be nice, or if anyone actually is familiar with this board, some first-hand advice would be terrific.
