[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] ps/2 mouse pinout ????

gah@hood.hood.caltech.edu (Glen Herrmannsfeldt) (04/20/91)

Could someone tell me the ps/2 mouse pinout, especially if it
is a 9 pin D connector? I was looking at a trackball that
claims to be for PS/2. It has about a foot long cord, ending
in a DB9. I want to connect one to a non-PS/2 as a serial
mouse. One book I saw sounds like the keyboard and mouse have
the same, 4 pin connector. This trackball definitely has
a 9 pin connector.

Thanks for any help on this.

It probably isn't really for a PS/2. They have a DB-25 serial port and
a DIN (5 pin?) connectors for the keyboard and mouse.
