My fiancee and I will be taking a trip this May, and for some complex
reasons relating to our transportation arrangements, we have at most
three places to consider -- Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico,
and Grand Cayman in the West Indies (the latter may or may not be a
possibility). I would be delighted to hear from anyone who has
travelled to any of these places, particularly concerning --
1) Recommended or "must-avoid" hotels, any price category,
2) Serenity of the spot, suitability for a good week's rest on
the beach after a long cold semester,
3) Any comparisons of Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta (which is
less overrun by Hawaiian tourist types?).
We will be there in an off-peak week (NOT Memorial Day).
