I recently installed a Plus hardcard XL on my system and I was having trouble getting it to install because of some bios conflict between it and my current VGA card (Oak Technologies VGA-1600). The immediate solution that Plus provided was to move the VGA card from it's 16 bit slot (it's a 16 bit card) to an 8-bit slot. My question is does anyone have the Plus card and a 16bit SVGA (at least 800x600) that runs in 16 bit mode? Plus has apparently taken the stance of 'not' endorsing any card that works with their card so they wouldn't tell me which manufacturer is compatible. The reason I want 16 bit mode is I'm looking for faster screen updates which windows 3.0 really looks choppy in 8 bit mode.
