I have a Sperry PC/microIT at work with only 512k memory. Is there a way to add additional memory without having to purchase the proprietary daughter board or extended memory boards from Sperry?

I have a Sperry PC/IT 286, but they shpuld be fairly similar. Describe your memory configuration. You should be able to get a meg on board using 41256. What do you have, 4164? Over that, you're going to need an extension board. Sorry, welcome to Sperry (whoops! Unisys^2) :) -e.b. ============================================================================== Eric Berggren | "Life is a Turing Test; Computer Science/Eng. | We're all automatons!" berggren@eecs.cs.pdx.edu | - (click, whir, buzz, chirp)

The Sperry PC/IT and the PC/uIT are quite different animals. The older IT can handle 640K on the motherboard no problem. The uIT's have a strange daughter board you need to get over 512K. The easiest solution to this mess is a board like AST Rampage that can back fill the normal 640K (i.e. the memory from 512 to 640), and then go on from there with extended (or expanded if you like). -- Al Womelsdorf | usual disclaimer.......
