[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Problems setting up Tandon Floppy externally

Hello,

I am in the midst of setting up a 360KB 5.25 Tandon Floppy Drive as
an external second floppy disk. I have a PS/2 Model 30 (ie non MCA 8086)
with a 720KB 3.5 floopy, 20 MB HD and 640 KB RAM. The secondary floppy
I have to control the external disk is made by Longshine & its model
is LCS-6812F Floopy Disk Adapter.

There is no way to diable the floppy/HD controller on the 30's motherboard so
I was setting this board up as the secondary controller. The card's
firmware was disabled and the Jumpers for the drive types set for
drive 1:720 2:Logical 720 3:360. I then installed the device driver in my
config.sys per instructions and when the machine booted I received the
drive description of each of the drives as the docs say but then the machine
does not read drive C: but instead tries to boot from A. In the process of
getting it to boot from A with a DOS disk, I get this ANSI picture that shows
inserting a disk into the drive and to press F1. I press F1 and the machine
locks up.

With all of that does anyone have any suggestions to correct the problem
and get this 360KB disk online?
