[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] need driver four 4-port serial card

freeman@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (Jay Freeman) (04/24/91)

Hello, I have a 4-port serial card which claims to be AST Four-Port/XN
compatible. It is designed for unix/xenix and runs all 4 ports on 1 IRQ
or optionally uses the first two as a standard COM1/COM2 with the remaining
2 on 1 IRQ. I am using this card with DR DOS 5.0 and am looking for a driver
that will allow me to use all four ports on the card, instead of just the
first two. I am running Desqview 386 and have several serial devices I'd
like to use simultaneously (mostly amateur radio related). I'd appreciate
any suggestions.

     Thanks, Jay freeman@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu

The X00 fossil driver supports multi-port cards and is desqview
aware. you can get it from simtel in msdos.fossil.
