[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Interupt problems with ArchiveVP tape drive

mwilliam@loki.une.oz.au (Matthew Williams) (04/29/91)

HELP!

I've got a problem with getting an "ArchiveVP QIC Stream" tape drive
installed in my AT.

The problem seems to be with conflicting interupts/DMA/address etc..
but I don't fully understand all of these.

It seems the tape controller is conflicting with my IO board.
When I take the IO board out the tape drive works perfectly.
The tape controller is set up for IRQ3 DMA3 ADDR:200 initially,
and I have changed all of these except the address without success.

The IO board has one parallel two serial ports.
I am also able to change the IRQ/DMA of the IO board with jumpers
but this doesn't help either.

Hardware interupts as reported by Nortons SI:

IRQ08 0000:0000 Realtime clock Unused
...

Can anyone give me more information so I can get the thing working.

Thanks
