[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] CMOS drive type for ESDI

jukoff@imram.net.com (Steve Jukoff) (04/30/91)

Almost everybody responded that the BIOS on the ESDI
controller controls the disk parameters and the
BIOS in the mother-board does not control ESDI drives.
Therefore most suggestions are to set the drive type to 1
and ignore the disk parameters associated with this
number. The mother-board BIOS is useful for MFM disks
(and maybe others, but not ESDI).

Thanks to all who replied.
