[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Amdek Laserdek 2000 CDROM

cab3@uafhp.uark.edu (Chad A. Bersche) (04/30/91)

Please excuse if this shows up twice, as my "main" news server is less than
dependable, so I've been forced to repost this since it hasn't even made it off
the local machine in two days.

I have recently acquired an Amdek Laserdek 2000 CDROM, but I am having some
minor (i.e. it doesn't work) problems with it. First off, I am unable to
locate and Amdek.Sys driver for it (the drive is on loan from a friend, who
didn't give me the drivers, apparently). Currently the only drivers I have
available is a sony_cdu.sys which is not covered in the documentation with the
drive and mscdex.exe. I am needing to acquire the amdek.sys file (if anyone
might have it) as well as a few pointers on actually setting up the drive and
its jumper settings (I have the documentation, but it's pretty vague,
unfortunately). I am running an Everex 80386/20, with two serial, one
parallel, and two RLL Seagate ST251-1's, and Paradise VGA (I realize I've
described my entire system, but who knows where the problem might lie. :-)

If anyone has any information on this, please E-mail me (preferable) and if
there is sufficient interest I will summarize to the net after I get my drive
working. Thanks.
