I am having a weird problem with an Everex EV158A 10 meg ram card. I have it running in a 10 mhz. AT with 1 meg on board and a DTK bios. The only driver being used is the OnTrack hard disk manager (for an 80 meg drive). The problem is this: No matter how I configure the card, any portion of ram that is configured as EMS is shown in the diagnostics as being defective or bad. If I change the setup to be all EXTENDED ram, the problem goes away. Extended is shown as good, and EMS is shown as bad. I have tried setting the board to operate at 8 bits rather than 16, and have tried testing with the EMS.SYS driver supplied with the board, and have tried testing without it. Is the EMS actually working, and the diagnostics are correct? Or is there a problem with the EMS portion of the board? It seems to work fine being set up as all extended memory, but I would like to use at least 1 meg for EMS, as there are other programs that would like to use it if it were available. Thanks in advance... Bjorn "Whenever you... (no, wait... how did that go? Damn, I forgot)."
