[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Mass disk failure

There are a few hard drives that refused to work, some temporarily
and a few permanently in my office and at home.  It all came quite
recent, within a couple of weeks of one another.  

Anyone has any idea?  Are we in the midst of high sunspot activities
that cause failure to hard drives?
