[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] 386SX and 286

mabdoor@cs.vu.nl (Doorn van MAB) (05/02/91)

I use an IBM PS/2 Model 50Z (with an 286)

I read somewhere that an 386SX processor has the same package as the 286.
Only the contacts (pins) are on a different position.

I'm not a hardware expert, but isn't it possible to plug a 386SX into the
286-foot, if you use something which will remap the pins to the correct
position ???

Thanks,
Matthijs van Doorn
