Hello I have a tape backup Archive model 5540C which can use D2000 tapes and backup 40megs on one tape. It came with QICstream version 1.7 backup software. I am wondering if there is a never version of this software or some other software I can use which can do file compression, or be able to use the 2120 (or whatever) which can hold 60 megs on one tape. If there is newer/better software, how do I get it? Thank you Edward

The Archive DMA and SCSI-based tape drives are well supported by SYTOS and SYTOS PLUS. I'm not sure, but perhaps PLUS has compression. You'd have to call Sytron; unfortunately I don't have their address, but perhaps someone reading this does Mike Schuster | CIS: 70346,1745 NY Public Access UNIX: ...cmcl2!panix!schuster | MCI Mail, GENIE: The Portal (R) System: schuster@cup.portal.com | MSCHUSTER
