[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Software for Archive model 5540C

dragon@cs.mcgill.ca (Edward YEE) (05/13/91)

Hello

I have a tape backup Archive model 5540C which can
use D2000 tapes and backup 40megs on one tape. It came
with QICstream version 1.7 backup software.

I am wondering if there is a never version of this
software or some other software I can use which can do
file compression, or be able to use the 2120 (or whatever)
which can hold 60 megs on one tape.

If there is newer/better software, how do I get it?

Thank you

Edward

The Archive DMA and SCSI-based tape drives are well supported by SYTOS
and SYTOS PLUS. I'm not sure, but perhaps PLUS has compression. You'd
have to call Sytron; unfortunately I don't have their address, but perhaps
someone reading this does
