My boss is in the market for a scanner, and I suggested we try the net for some recommendations. Our primary applications are Autocad and CorelDRAW, and the scanner would be used primarily for scanning in large maps. It would have to be able to scan (easily) images larger than 8.5" by 11", (11" by 17" is preferable), and we'd need at least 300dpi. Color isn't necesary, but if the price is right, it would be nice. Our leading contender is the HP Scanjet Plus. So I ask: Does anyone have any opinions on the scanners currently available to perform such duties? Thanks for your time (and replies).
