I hope this isn't too stupid a question: How do I go about connecting 2 computers to one common keyboard and monitor, so I can have each dedicated to particular tasks, eg, one would contain a database of information while the other is dedicated to running application programs. Both systems are 286's. If it *is* a stupid question, and you'd like to throw some flames, my address is /dev/null. Thanks for any help you can offer, Matt Curland.. . . . . . . curlandm@prism.cs.orst.edu _____________________________________________________________________________

Both systems are 286's. > Look into running the QNX operating system, which will allow you to transparently network two 286 machines, and will allow individual windows on one console for each running task, whatever machine they are running on. You can run up to 255 computers in parallel this way. If you need to stick to DOS, well...
