[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] 300M+ HD Recommendation

ilan343@violet.berkeley.edu (Geraldo Veiga) (05/17/91)

I am in the market for a > 300M Hard disk. My first choice was a
Maxtor 4380, but the my hardware person is having trouble getting one
from his wholesalers. Can anyone give reliable alternatives? Segates
anyone? I would be especially interested in hearing opinions on the
Fujitsu drives, both the 415M and 776M with can be had for very
attractive prices.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Micropolis model 1558-15 (320 Mb), and it's still running 24h
a day since 1989. No problems at all, but it is too noiser for me.

Disclaimer: I'm not working for Micorpolis, I'm only an happy user
(my ear less than me).
