Hello, I just logged on over at the Diamond BBS. The Sysop informed me that they are now upgrading SpeedSTAR owners to the new stuff. The two options they give are the Edsun CEG and the ????? HiColor. Both are "field upgradeable", meaning that they send you the chip, and you insert it yourself. The upgrade cost of either is $75. They send you a manual, chip, and set of drivers. My questions: Which should I choose? Has anyone else seen either of these options at work? Does anyone have advice about which to pick? All I know is the Edsun is designed to use the extra colors to make lines look crisper (less jaggies) and text much better. I think the HiColor gives 15 bit color, in the normal way (no DSP kinda stuff). Is this right? If I program in Windows (and have the correct driver for this) can I access the full 15 bit color? I'd be psyched! Does anyone know for sure? Anyone have any comments? Advice? Information? Funny stories? Thanks for any help, -Bryon
