I picked up my latest (5/27/91) issue of Business Week last evening and came across an advertisement for Digital Equipment Corp.'s latest entries into the PC compatible world. They're bringing out the following: 1. DECpc 433 Workstation: 486DX "Built in" (to motherbard?) video controller 1280x1024 video resolution about $6000 U.S. 2. DECpc 333 Portable: 386DX-33 (it's a laptop) 4MB RAM 60 MB HD "Integrated Mouspad" (GOOD idea) 11 lbs. 3. DECpc 320sx Notebook: 386SX Integrated Mousepad 8.5" x 11" 6 lbs. I was intrigued by the mouspad concept. You apparently just move your finger around on the pad to position the cursor on the screen. No more external mouse needed! Slick. There's also an article on Zenith Data Systems' woes and its plans for a bounceback in the PC world. They intend to ship a 486 (I presume DX) laptop this fall, and are also developing a 486SX laptop. The DX will sell for a cool $8899 U.S. and you'll be able to get an SX for $7499. Start saving now :-) Jay Cliburn TRW Ballistic Missile Division Ogden, Utah
