After searching for an inexpensive svga monitor, I ended up buying a "Magic VGA" color monitor. The monitor is made by MAG Technologies and from talking with various dealers, it appears that the monitor is comparable to the well reviewed MAG Computronic product. Looking at the specs in the monitor manual, the two monitors do seem to be identical. One caveat - the Magic monitor is branded with the name "Continental" and "MAG Technologies." Ergonomically speaking, the monitor has a front panel power switch as well as various knobs for adjusting the monitor (also in the front of the monitor). This differes from the standard MAG monitors. I have a question though. When a graphic screen is displayed, faint horizontal lines (not continous) dot the image. These lines run accross the whole screen and is noticeable in single color screens. Is this a defect in the monitor? I am using a STB Powerview vga card (for now). Any comments are most welcome. Winston uunet!spock!winston
