In response to the flow of questions regarding whether or not to leave the PC ON or OFF all the time, here is my two cents . . . If you use your PC several times a day, it is best to leave your PC on the whole day, and shut it off at night. Each time your turn on and off your PC puts strain on your components. If you accidentally leave your PC on all weekend, don't worry about a thing. With monitors, if you are going to be gone from your desk for more than a few minutes, turn your monitor OFF or use a screen saver (like Screen Peace for windows 3). This will prevent image burn-on, and help your monitor tube last a whole lot longer. BY ALL MEANS, turn your monitor off at night. Now, if I only knew how much more electricity the monitor uses verses a pc .. . -- NOTE: /\ UUCP: ames att!pacbell! \ pacbell is ill at the moment \/ pyramid sun!pacbell! -=> sactoh0!mholtz and cannot accept mail. /\ ucbvax!csusac! / \/ INTERNET: mholtz@sactoh0.SAC.CA.US
