So I made the mistake of wandering in to ACP where they had a pile of 1.2M 5 1/4 drives for $30 each. A bargain indeed. And there is this old IBM PC in the department that I could make useful. So next I found a controller card that the retailer said would enable an XT to run one 360K and one 1.2M drive (Not ACP-they were out of stock). I took the parts to the department tech, who can't make the thing work. He noted that the PC has a Series I motherboard, with only (I think he said) some 364K of memory, which might be incompatable with the card. Further said he's never seen one of these upgrade attempts really work. Does anybody out there have any experience or advice to share? Please email me. Thanks, -Jim-
