[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] 386 Motherboard for Leading Edge Model D??

tims@infidel.lanl.gov (Tim Sullivan) (06/03/91)

Does anyone know if there is someone who sells a 386 motherboard
(16-20 MHz) that will fit in an old Leading Edge Model D (the XT clone
box)? The box is pretty small with only four expansion slots and two
half-height 5-1/4" drive bays.

Also I would liek to echo the question asked by someone else: I have
replaced cards and drives andd know something about how these boxes
work, but how hard is it to replace a motherboard? I am trying to
choose between a motherboard replacement (if available) and an Inboard
386/PC accelerator card. I know that the advantages of a motherboard
would include 16 bit slots, but are there other considerations?

Thanks for the help.
