tubing is best done in San Marcos, where you can rent a tube and drift through the local college campus. and below Canyon Dam, the level of difficulty at 3 places is ranked 'highest' in the scale, so you get challenged quite a bit. Water level fluctuates greatly, due to control at the dam. Someone, recently, said in this forum, that there is little recreational value around here .... we are getting tricky, down here, don't we ? Q: what scares an Austinite more than the cops, 'protecting' the KKK-march? A: a Yankee with a U-Haul!
