I have a Micronics ASIC 386-33 with the onboard IDE controller. I just purchased a Seagate ST1144A IDE drive and ST08 IDE adapter. We plugged it into a Tandy 4000, managed to get it to recognize it as a 112MB drive, then partitioned it (worked fine). We then did a FORMAT C: /S, which seemed to work fine, until the very end, which ended with a : Format completed Error writing FAT Norton Disk Doctor said the disk was unrecoverable. Repartitioning didn't help. We then moved it over to my 386-33 with the same results. My onboard IDE adapter was disabled for this. Anyone seen this before? Also, I also want to keep my IDE drive and one of my RLL drives so that I can do an XCOPY /S and not have to do a massive backup and restore. Is this possible? I have a MicroScience HH1060 and Seagate ST277R with an Adaptec 1072B(?) 16-bit RLL controller. Replies should be via e-mail if possible.
