We've got a couple of Western Digital WD8003E ethernet cards that have given up (a bit of) the ghost. The 5->12V isolating power supply has gone bang. To be specific the 2SD1804 switching transistor. The upshot is that the card works fine, except for the transceiver section. WD in Australia weren't much help (send back to the US) so I'm wondering whether anyone OUT THERE can help. 1 - Has anyone successfully substituted anything for the 2SD1804 ? 2 - Does anyone know of a possible local (Oz) source (TV video spares, etc) 3 - Can anyone tell me Western Digital's fax number in the US for technical type enquiries ?
