I have an old Epson Equity I (8088) computer. The keyboard connector is nonstandard: It's an 8-pin DIN, rather than the normal 5-pin DIN. I have no idea what Epson does with the extra wires (just as I have no idea what a standard PC/clone does with the wires from the keyboard), but there are in fact 8 wires attached to the board inside the keyboard. I did try plugging an old PC keyboard into the 8-pin female connector on the computer, but it locked up (as perhaps you guessed). Question: Anyone know offhand of an easy way to use standard keyboards with this computer? Maybe some adaptor that's available, or some simple wire-crossing trick I could try? Thanks in advance if anyone knows about this. Marshall Abrams ab2r@midway.uchicago.edu
