I am having problems installing a hard drive in an original IBM-PC. I am using a XTGEN controller card with a micropolis 20mb drive. The drive low-level formats fine, I can do an fdisk on the drive, but when I try to format the drive it says "INSERT DISK IN DRIVE C: AND RETURN TO CONTINUE" (or something like that) and then when I hit return the drive responds with "DRIVE NOT READY".Unfortunely I do not have the original docs for the PC but I believe that the DIP switch settings may be wrong. The guy I bought the PC from used to have an RLL drive in there and he said he had to configure the machine so there were no fixed disks.
