my fiance and i are trying to make plans for our honeymoon. vital info:
leaving early july, planning on a week. primary goals: ocean, sun, sand,
skin and scuba diving, windsurfing, to some extent nightlife, and of course
excellent food.
we considered club med, some of their locations meet our requirements,
but they require arrival on a saturday, and we get married saturday eve.
locations under consideration: misc carribean islands, including st. thomas,
jamaica, virgin islands, ... ; also bermuda (debby's favorite), bahamas;
mexico, including cancun; and ????
big questions: how hot will the above places be in early july? passport
required? relative expenses, including travel from virginia? best way to
travel? what to do there? quality of water for diving etc? political
problems? (i've heard some unsavory things about jamaica).
basically i'm looking for feedback from people who've been in some of these
places, preferably during the summer.
please respond if you can; any and all responses welcome. i'll
be happy to summarize; or, if you care to, post directly - this
newsgroup can probably bear the burden.
