[Sorry for the semi-massive crosspost; wasn't quite sure where this fit best.] I'm looking for display upgrades at home and work. First, work: the training room doesn't have any means for projecting computer graphics onto a big display so that all of the people in for a training course or a sales demo can see the same picture at the same time. I'm aware of the relatively cheap LCD panels that go on an overhead projector, but often they need to show high-speed graphics. As I understand it, currently available LCD panels are too slow to handle this sort of thing. What's are their options for, say, a 3-foot (diagonal) display, and how much would it cost? Now, home: I have a Unix box with VGA. I'd love to have a TV-sized display. I tried a VGA-to-SVHS converter last year, but it required DOS-only software to work. I guess there are other such things coming available (got a Unix Today card for something that does various such conversions, but I don't know what software it needs yet.) Ideally I'd like an unbundled TV tuner and large (26" or more) high-res color display that I could use for TV (and other video sources) and VGA. Anybody have a remotely similar setup, especially for Unix? Thanks in advance for any insight. -- Mark McWiggins mark@hermesa.uucp ...uw-beaver!amc-gw!hermesa!mark Box 40357, Bellevue WA 98004 / +1 206 455 2786 (24 hrs.)
