Re the idea of a betting pool on 4.2bsd relaese date: Good idea, but why disqualify people who are working on it? This would seem to imply that they know the answer...

Actually, with the success Berkeley has in predicting release dates, it would probably be interesting to let Berkeley people join the pool. They would probably be at a disadvantage. Rick Lindsley

What's all this complaint about when 4.2 will be out? Heck, I remember in the summer of 1976 when version 7 was "on its way". Took quite a while (and then of course several more years before we got around to changing at least one of our machines... we still have one running v6). Dave Sherman University of Toronto
