I just got my upgrade chip from Diamond Computer for my SpeedSTAR SVGA card and things seem a little wierd. I have a Gateway 2000 486/33 with their Crystal Scan 1024ni monitor, 1M on the SVGA card, 8M, 200M HD, blah blah blah. The problem is when I am using Windows 3.0 and put the monitor into 800x600 32k color mode there seems to be a slight flicker. So I go and check to make sure that I am setting VMODE correctly and things appear OK. Also, when I switch a full-screen DOS session my color palette gets all messed up. Is there a bug(s) in the new drivers because Diamond wanted to get this chip out too quickly or am I not setting something up correctly. Thanks! -- James E. Is this the "anti-aliasing" DAC that we've heard so much about?
Does it really *visibly* make diagonal lines look much smoother?
How did you "apply for" this upgrade?? I want one!! :)
