[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Vertex Hard Disk

jgb@prism.gatech.EDU (James G. Baker) (06/27/91)

I've got a hard disk here - a "Vertex V170". From the looks of the
connectors and Disk Manager, it appears to be a standard MFM - although
someone thought it was a SCSI. But, Disk Manager fails to get past the
CMOS setup/initialize controller. I think it is because of a mis-placed
jumper. The jumper block is really 8 break-links across a DIP and all
but numbers 1,5 are broken.

Any help as to how to get this drive to work with my AT would be
greatly appreciated. Email to jgb@prism.gatech.edu.

Thanks.
