I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a difference between connecting at 9600 baud and connecting at 19200 baud when using a 9600 baud V42bis modem? Thanks! Rich Kapusta University of Illinois

You should use the fastest speed that your modem allows. That way, data compression may allow a faster terminal than actual modem speed, effectively increasing your throughput. * * * * * * ====================== Meir Green * * * * * * ====================== (Internet) mig@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu * * * * * * ====================== meir@msb.com mig@asteroids.cs.columbia.edu * * * * * * ====================== (Amateur Radio) N2JPG
