On an IBM XT with 640K on the 256-640K motherboard I get the following: Parity Check 1 9C 220 Unfortunately, this doesn't match with any of the parity error documentation I've got. Anyone know what these numbers mean? Please E-mail responses and I'll post. We have an AST 286, with 1 Meg Ram. It has been getting parity errors quite regularly, but not in any identifiable pattern. I believe parity errors are caused by flaky DRAMs, or flaky connections to the RAM. Are parity errors caused exclusively by the RAM chips? If so then I'd be pretty safe replacing all the ram chips. The error pops up at segment 8000. On another note, does anyone know how to contact AST? ie 1 800 number or fax. Thanks, John Paul Morrison (please respond by e-mail)
