I have a question regarding a Western Digital 7000-FASST2 controller I recently installed in my computer. The data transfer rates are quite slow (93 kbs for .5k blocks) when the device driver sstbio.sys is not installed in my config.sys. The transfer rate is fine (500-550kbs) when it is installed. Is this normal? Does the Adaptec 1542b require a driver also to get the higher rate? Also, without the driver PCTools PCBackup program fails in high speed but works fine with the driver when backing up to floppies. I would appreciate any help or comments - I just want to be sure that the controller and the installation are okay. Thanks, Chris
