hello, Can anybody enlighten me on how the checksum in the PC BIOS are calculated ? I suspect that the last byte are adjusted so that the total checksum are nul, but I don't have an EPROM burner handy, so I haven't bothered to experience. I have several times patched BIOS'es to cope with unlisted driveparameters, but so far I have solved the problem by adjusting other entries in the drive table to avoid changing the checksum. Also, does it exist any tools for simplifying this process? I have tried two; CMOSER and HTMU, but none of them worked the way I wanted them to :-( Prefer Email, Thanx, Jan -- / l / l ^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v l--/ l Jan Eri - - The Norwegian Institute of Technology , Acoustics l l l Internet : janeri@lise.unit.no l--\ l CompuServe : 100015,2071 \ l ^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v \ l "Music is a better drug" - Staale Krapyl
