Greetings to the net. Question: is there a way to create a 43 line screen using PC-DOS 3.3 on standard PS/2 hardware (viz., Model 80, 8514 monitor, standard VGA cir- cuitry)? If so, is it a risky business to get into (because of side effects, etc.)? Thanks to all. -- GAC

As far as I know, you could code page the mode into 80x43, but DOS 3.3 would only recognize the first 25 lines. I'm not even sure if DOS 3.3 officially recognizes EGA/VGA (supports the graphic modes). I'll look for a driver for you. -Chris

I use a Paradise VGA card in 43 line and/or 132 col mode by calling its extended modes. IBM VGA can set these modes too. --BUT-- 3.3 ANSI.SYS will restrict you to 25 lines. You need to either get a replacement ansi, remove it or goto dos 4.0. Info/flame/bad debits jamesp@world.std.com reality is not an industry standard
