Has anyone tried OS/88 by Dan Lanciani?
I just got Austin Code Works' latest product listing, and OS/88 is listed.
The description:
A Unix-like operating system for the 8088 with complete source code and a
solid collection of utility programs and program development tools. The
package also includes a MS-DOS program which lets you move executables from
MS-DOS to OS/88. OS/88 is not a toy like Xinu or a teaching aid like
Minix. This is a real, production quality operating system.
They want $150 for the system.
Questions: What exactly is this good for? Is this just an MKS Toolkit
clone? In what ways might this system be superior to Minix?
I'd write to info@acw.com, but my system can't find that host.
