A long time ago, PC Magazine provided instructions for identifying the dos version ident string built into dos .com programs. Specifically, they noted that then this ident string was removed from graphics.com for version 4 dos, it could happily be used with say version 3.3 to do ega screen dumps. I of course can't seem to locate the article anymore, and am just too cheap to call compuserv. Does aybody else remember or have a specific reference ? al -- Al.
