[comp.os.msdos.programmer] MIX Power C: Where do I buy it?

dsims@uceng.UC.EDU (david l sims) (10/12/90)

Lately there has been some discussions about C compilers in general
and specifically a package called MIX Power C for ~$20. Does anyone
have an address or telephone number so I could purchase this nifty
sounding product? (I'd give up a night at the movies with my wife
in exchange for a C compiler, wouldn't you?)

I've had the compiler for years now and have very few complaints. My
experience is that it is as bug free as Turbo C and Microsoft C. The
latest version that I have (2.0) supports small, medium, and large
models. Upgrades for bugs you report are usually free. Major upgrades
are $5. Get the library source. It's only $10 (let your wife go to the
movies alone, it'll give you time to play with your new toy (-:).

The only drawbacks; The tech support is not very knowledgeable, good
mostly just for reporting bugs. The compiler outputs .MIX object files,
which are not compatible with Microsoft's .OBJ files. They have a MIX
utility that is supposed to be able to convert .OBJ files to .MIX files.
I haven't used it much so I don't know how good a job it does.
