I have another question for you MSDOSers...
Up until recently, we had been teaching PASCAL (our intro
to programming class) on Macintosh Plus machines. In order to
get around the software piracy problem, we had each student
buy Borland's Pascal for the Mac (student edition) which was
a reasonable cost ($30? - I forget). Since now Borland has
significantly cut back on some of it's operations, particulary
in the Mac line (Mac software is out entirely - I suspect they
are not interested in making revisions for System 7 when it
appears), we are looking to swapping our PASCAL classes to MSDOS
machines if we can find a similar product.
Can anyone recommend any software to check out along these lines?
We'd like a reasonably full featured PASCAL, plus preferably a
debugger, and something less than $40. Not having a strong
MSDOS expert in the department, maybe someone here can be of
help.
A site license would also be considered IF it were a reasonable
price (which almost universally they are not...).
THANKS!
