[net.travel] Jet "drag"

shorty@homxa.UUCP (M.SAMANTA) (08/07/84)

I once flew from New York to London, stopped there for 4 days,
and then flew from London to Calcutta (13+hours). When I got
to Calcutta I felt and looked like the "wicked witch". The return
flight was Calcutta to New York with a 3 hour stop in London.
I felt even worse when I got to New York than I did when I got
to Calcutta. I can eat just fine on long flights, it's just that
I can't sleep!

Has anyone experimented with "sleeping aids" for these long
flights? Probably the people in first class can sleep fine,
but the cost is prohibitive for me. I'll need to do something
different next time, or else waste two days sleeping at my
destination again.

Does any wise traveler have any good advice for me?
(Is a sleeping pill a good idea?)
