[comp.os.msdos.programmer] Seeking a "debugger" for DOS .BAT files

tomr@ashtate.A-T.COM (Tom Rombouts) (11/22/90)

I am currently involved in a situation using a series of many inter-
related DOS .BAT files that depend on a series of DOS environmental
variables. Just out of curiosity, is there any sort of TSR out
there that would allow me to "step" thorough a .BAT file one line
at a time? (Currently, even if echo is off, there are so many of
the .BAT files and they execute so quickly that it is hard to see what is
flashing by on the screen.)

Lacking this, will 4 DOS or some other replacement command interpreter
do this? (DR DOS, etc.) Finally, do any of the various .BAT file
compilers such as BATCOM, etc. support this? (I have an older version
of BATCOM, which works fine, BTW, but I see no mention of a "step"
option.)
